We needed transport for three people and luggage to our jeep rental a few miles from the airport. RJ Taxi was by far the cheapest (and friendliest) of the three companies that I contacted.

When we arrived at Kona Airport the driver (i didn’t catch his name) was already there. He called my cell as soon as we landed and was waiting for us at baggage claim. The minivan that he transported us in was clean and well maintained.

When we needed to return to Kona Airport 5 days later, RJ himself picked us up. He was super friendly and chatted with my mom about the Philippines. He also gave us several food recommendations for when we got to Oahu. His minivan had plenty of space and was super comfortable.

Aside from the fact that he charged the least out of the 3 companies that I contacted, RJ Taxi was just a great overall experience. Preparing for air travel with a ton of luggage and multiple people can be super stressful and this stress-free and pleasant experience made it much easier.

Alvin provided transportation to the Kona airport from our condo at 5:15 am today. He was prompt and friendly.
I called yesterday morning to book the pickup. We arrived in less than 30 minutes and the fare was around $34 without tip. Mahalo Alvin and RJ for a great experience!

After reading the positive Yelp reviews, I decided to book R Jay Taxi during our trip to the Big Island. I called the day before and was able to easily schedule our pickup from our hotel, the Four Seasons Hualalai, to the airport. Our driver was waiting for us when we arrived at the valet area and was helpful with the luggage. The car was cool and pleasant, and our driver was friendly. I will definitely use R Jay Taxi next time we stay at the Four Seasons Hualalai.

Taxi reviews made me leery of what kona had to offer...but we had nothing but positive experiences with him! Sorry to have found I didn't post this when I thought. Enjoyable, reliable, friendly and fair prices- what more could you ask for?

We have used RJay a number of times between home and Kona airport, as early as 4am and late in the evening. Always prompt and extremely friendly. Recommend making a reservation with RJay for pick up at KOA to avoid the long lines at the taxi stand.

RJay is the best! My friend and I arrived on Dec 26th, and found out as we landed that our original ride plans wouldn't work out. RJay was available to bring us to our destination and he was super helpful and friendly! We had a great conversation about Hawaii, the Philippines, and our families. He helped us with our luggage once we got to our location and offered us his card if we needed another service for our way back. The taxi fare was as expected and affordable. A week later, I ran into him at the airport when I was leaving and he remembered me! Awesome service, awesome guy! I highly recommend!

Great service and quick response ! I called and texted RJay from CA very early on a Friday, traveling with relatives and didn't have much sleep so I forgot HI was 2 hours earlier. I had about 3 minutes and the connection was terrible on my end. He texted me and we arranged for him to pick me up. My flight was almost 45 minutes early but he was there waiting! His estimate for the cost was exactly right, he accepts credit cards, and his driving was safe and direct. Clean, large vehicle. Highly recommend!

R Jay was a lifesaver when I stopped on the Big Island for a short trip. He's personable and communicates well. I was a bit worried about getting a ride from as far out as I was to the airport, but he gave me a good estimate and showed up on time. The price was also reasonable.

I'd definitely recommend calling him when you're going to and from the airport--next time I'll call him directly from the airport instead of using the taxi bay.

This was the best taxi service I have ever used! I travel frequently and use taxis all the time. RJ was friendly, prompt and a great conversationalist. The reviews are 100% correct. R Jay is incredibly professional, his taxis are clean and I felt very safe being on a 40 minute drive with R Jay and my 2 children.

RJ is super friendly and punctual taxi service!! Easy to call and set up reservation over the phone and was very familiar with pick-up and drop off locations from airport to downtown Kailua village. Also gave me accurate fare calculation which was helpful! Clean car and had plenty of space for my luggage (mini-van). Highly recommend!

Had a great ride with R Jay this morning from Captain Cook to the Kona airport. I'll definitely be calling him when I'm back on the island.

There's a reason this taxi service is at the top of the Yelp rated list. They are easy to connect to , show up on time with clean vehicles, and a super kind and friendly owner round out the show. R Jay takes pride in his company, values his employees as he displayed through our conversation, and he is honest and friendly. I felt safe the whole time, and learned a little about good places to go and experience.

I'm keeping his number for any future trips out here, and I'm passing it out to my friends traveling here.

This guy is amazing! We were worried as we had to catch a 6:15 flight out of KOA. Booked the reservation and his guy was here, not only on time, but 20 minutes early. Made pickup rez via email, to be met at KOA airport. Was met as promised, with my name on the board held by respectful and kind R Jay driver, and he was there as soon as I debarked the plane.

Driver took my rollaboard and backpack to the waiting taxi while I waited for luggage; then he returned promptly, waited with me, and took my heavy bag to the van.

Drive to Waikoloa was uneventful (9PM on a Thursday night) and driver assisted me again with luggage, waited till I entered my condo with all luggage,then drove off with a wave.
Great experience, will use again when I'm ready to return to the Mainland...and the rate was competitive, paid for with Visa card.

Ronald was amazing! I emailed Ronald to pre-arrange a pickup from the Kona airport. Our |Maui to Kona flight kept getting changed due to weather. I would send Ronald updates and he took it all in stride. He was waiting for us upon our arrival to the Big Island. I also pre-arranged for the trip back to the airport for a couple of days later. He was prompt to pick us up and ensured we arrived to the airport online. During our stay on the Big Island we ended up in need of a cab late one evening. I called Ronald and even though he was no longer running at that time, he said 'no worries, someone will be there to get you in 10 mins'. And sure enough another lovely fellow came to get us! What great service!!

Found RJay on line and read the reviews, we were in need of help to meet my elderly parents at the airport as the family they were going to be traveling with 1st flight was delayed, and my parents are on a plane to Kona, without any family that had all the information regarding the house they had rented, address and codes to get inside, I spoke with RJay on the phone on Sunday night, he was in the middle of Family Dinner, ( I love Sunday night family Dinners), and he assured me that someone would be there to meet them, take them to a store to buy a few groceries to hold them until the rest of my sister and her family arrived on Monday. My Sister just texted me in California to say they are there, and to say Thank you to the guy that helped with out parents last night with getting to the house and getting them safely inside, using the code that my father didn't know how to do.... We scheduled a pickup with RJ before we arrived in Kona. He was waiting for us with our name on a sign. He was very friendly and quickly grabbed our bags and showed us to his car. The car was nice and cool inside and very clean. On the way to Kona he gave was great ideas About where to enjoy local food. We also called him to schedule a ride back to the airport. I feel our tour was much better than if we had taken one of the bigger tour companies. I intended to write a review when we got home from our cruise but misplaced his card. We used R Jay for my trip to Maui. He showed up at our place promptly and got us to the airport quickly. He is knowledgeable about the island and provides excellent conversation in a comfortable mini van, with plenty of room for all of our baggage. He agreed to pick us up upon our return and he was at the luggage carousel, waiting for us when we returned. It doesn't get better than this. We definitely know who to call next time we are leaving town.

We were stuck in Kona over night when our flight was cancelled. Rjay took us to our hotel and arranged to pick us up in the morning for the trip back to the airport.
